Internet Summary
In this module i learned how use internet and all the uses
of this also use our gmail, drive and all others programs
1. What is Internet?
a global computer network providing a variety of information
and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using
standardized communication protocols.
2. Internet History:
The internet began to appear in the 60s in the middle of the
Cold War, the United States created it exclusively for military purposes and it
was called ARPANET
In 1993 Marc Andreesen produced the first version of the
browser "Mosaic", which allowed access to the WWW more naturally.
Since then Internet began to grow faster than other means of
communication, becoming what we all know today.
3. What is Network?
is a collection of computers, servers, mainframes, network
devices, peripherals, or other devices connected to one another to allow the
sharing of data. An excellent example of a network is the Internet, which
connects millions of people all over the world. Below is an example of a home
network with multiple computers and other network devices connected to each
other and the Internet.
4. What is ARPANET?
was a computer network created by the Department of Defense
of the United States (DOD) to use it as a means of communication between
different academic and state institutions. The first node was created at the
University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and was published on the
Internet until 1990, after completing the transition to the TCP / IP protocol,
which began in 1983.
5. What is World Wide Web?
an information system
on the Internet that allows documents to be connected to other documents by
hypertext links, enabling the user to search for information by moving from one
document to another.
6. What is Social Network?
Alternatively referred to as a virtual community or profile
site, a social network is a website that brings people together to talk, share
ideas and interests, or make new friends. This type of collaboration and
sharing is known as social media. Unlike traditional media that is typically
created by no more than ten people, social media sites contain content created
by hundreds or even millions of different people. Below is a small list of some
of the biggest social networks used today.
7. Browse
Refers to reading and scanning through data. Browsing is
commonly used to describe when a user reads through pages on the Internet or
looks through the contents of the files on their computer. For example, you are
browsing the Internet with an Internet browser now. If you have visited more
than one page on Computer Hope you are browsing our website.
